The scale of space
The universe is so fast that it can not appreciate its size without making leaps of scale. in this series of pictures, each Stage represents a microscopic pic of the image to its right. when dealing with the vast distance in Space, kilometres are'nt big enough, instead, astronomers use the speed of light as a yardstick. Light year so fast it can travel around the earth 7.5 time in one second, light years is the distance light travels in a year nearly 10 trillion km( 6 trillion mile)
Earth and Moon
Earth is 12756 km wide. our nearest neighbor in space the moon orbits are at distance of 384400 km . If Earth where the size of football, the moon would be the size of a melon about 21 metre (69 feet) away

Solar system
the sun family of 8 planets occupy a region of space 9 billion wild km wide. if our where football it would take five days to walk across this part of solar system. that nearest star would be a 58 year walk away

Stellar neighborhood
The nearest star to the sun is proxima centauri, which is just over 4 light year away. there are around 2000 staff within 50 light years of the Sun. this make up our stellar neighborhood, which is tiny fraction of Milky Way galaxy

Milky Way galaxy
The milky way is a vast cloud of 200 billion stars. its shape reassembles pair Of tired eggs held back to back, with a central bulge surrounded by a flat disc. it measures 1,00,000 light year across the disc and two thousand light years around the bulge

Local group of Galaxy
The Milky Way just one of perhaps galaxies in the observable universe. Galaxy exist in groups called clusters, held Together by Gravity. The milky way is a part of cluster known as local group which is above 10 trillion light years wide.

Supercluster
clusters of galaxies exist in 7 larger groupings called superclusters. live in the virgo supercluster in the known universe. between these are immense empty areas called cosmic voids.

Universe
superclusters are thought to form a vast web of filaments riddled With enormous voids Containing no galaxies. The true size of the universe is mystery, and only a fraction of it is visible to us. the universe may even be infinite.
